Helping Heroes Program Honors 9/11 with Veteran Speaker
St. Louis – The Pavilion Apartments in Maryland Heights will be hosting a Patriot's Day event September 10, 2006 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. The event is open to the public and will be attended by Keynote speaker and Vietnam veteran Sheldon Hartsfield,whose sister survived the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11,2001. Also attending the event is emcee and 92.3 WIL personality Lynn Stewart in addition to a city representative of Maryland Heights.
"I am honored to share in The Pavilion Apartment's salute to our heroes." said Hartsfield. "Patriot's Day is an annual reminder of why our heroes are sacrificing so much for our country. I think it's great that the Pavilion Apartments goes out of its environment for them to be happy and healthy at home."
The Patriot's Day ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. Guests are welcome to make donations to United Services Organizations (USO) care packages, which will be delivered to members of the U.S. Armed Forces deployed around the world to show them they have not been forgotten and to provide a 'touch of home'. Monetary donations to the USO will be accepted as well as phone cards, non-perisable snack foods, travel size toiletries and paper items such as plates, cups, napkins, etc.
The Pavilion also invites active service members and veterans to take advantage of its Helping Heroes program. Those who qualify for the program will receive 50% off the first six months of their lease and 20% off the remaining six months. In addition to discounted monthly rent payments, members of the military and recent veterans will have access to the Pavilion Internet Café to develop their résumés. The Pavilion will also sponsor seminars to help military personnel transition into civilian life.
Apartments of one, two and three bedrooms are available for lease with rates beginning in the $500's. Each floor plan includes a balcony or patio to enjoy outdoor living. Veterans Benefit Fair Showcases Pavilion Apartments’ Helping Heroes Program
St. Louis – The St. Louis Area Veterans Benefit Fair will take place on June 3, 2006 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Parkway West High School. The Fair will include Helping Heroes, a program offered by The Pavilion Apartments that provides its veteran residents with rent discounts and various programs to aid their transition to civilian life.
The Veterans Benefit Fair is hosted by the Veterans Business Resource Center (VBRC), a project of the Veterans Advocacy Foundation, Inc. The Veterans Benefit Fair gives information and services to guide and enlighten Veterans regarding their Veterans' benefits. Approximately 300-500 veterans are expected to attend the Fair.
“I really like the friendly environment at The Pavilion and the service is great,” said Jackie Phail, Army Staff Sergeant of 12 years. “The Helping Heroes program is just one more thing that makes this place so special. It’s nice to live in a community that recognizes and appreciates military members and their sacrifices.”
